Business Can Be Fun Too
--
I know, I know. You’re probably thinking “business is not supposed to be fun.”
You’re probably thinking that business is all about numbers and spreadsheets and spreadsheets full of numbers. And while yes, you do need to keep track of those things, there’s so much more to it than that!
Sure, there’s no denying that running a business takes dedication and hard work — but it doesn’t have to be a slog. There are plenty of ways you can inject some fun into your business life:
It’s easy to get stuck in a rut when you’re running your own business. You’re always working, and it can be hard to remember that it’s okay to have fun, too.
But the truth is, if you don’t take time to recharge your batteries, you’re going to burn out — and that’s not good for anyone.
Take a break every hour or so.
Go for a walk or spend five minutes outside at least once every day. It’ll help you clear your head and give you space to think about things differently.
When you’re working on something, it can be easy to get stuck in the same routine over and over again, but that’s why it’s so important to take the time for yourself to recharge and enjoy life! You don’t want to burn out or get too stressed out from work — and if you’re having fun with your job, then it’ll be easier for you to do great work!
You know what they say: “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” And that’s not just true for kids — it’s true for grown-ups too! Taking breaks from your work is important because it helps you get refreshed, so you can come back with fresh eyes and a new perspective.
Start a book club for employees only.
It’s a great way for everyone to get to know each other better and bond over shared interests (and maybe learn something new). Plus, it gives people something to talk about at parties!
Encourage your employees to take time off on their own terms — not just when they’re sick or injured or if they’re just plain exhausted. If someone needs something else than what they’re doing right now (or even just wants something), let them pursue it! You never know when an employee might come up with something amazing that helps…
